Last Christmas, one candle quietly found its way onto more tables than any other. Our Sugar Plum Christmas Candle sold out well before the big day, and in the months since, so many of you have messaged to ask if it would be coming back.
It has. Sugar Plum is back in the Brisbane studio, freshly poured and ready to light.
The first candle of the season
There's something about lighting the first candle of the Christmas season. The tree goes up, the lights come out, the decorations come down from the cupboard, and suddenly the house feels festive.
December in Australia is beautiful, but it's rarely slow. Between end-of-year work, school concerts, catch-ups and the long list of gifts to sort, the season can rush past before you've had a chance to enjoy it. A candle won't clear the to-do list, but it can mark a moment - a small signal to pause and notice that Christmas has arrived at home.
The scent
Sugar Plum smells like Christmas Day - bright, joyful and full of warmth. Blackcurrant and lemon peel open at the top, softening into cyclamen and fir needle, before settling into nutmeg, plum and a hint of amber.

Small Christmas rituals
The best rituals are the ones that fit into real life. None of these take more than a minute, and each one makes an ordinary December evening feel a little more special.
~ While you wrap presents. Clear the table, put on a favourite playlist and light Sugar Plum before you start. Wrapping becomes something to enjoy rather than rush.
~ Settling in for a Christmas movie. Lights down, candle on, something cold to drink. It's the simplest way to end a busy day.
~ On the table for Christmas lunch. Light it as guests arrive and let it set the mood while everyone gathers. Keep it away from the food itself so the fragrance and the feast don't compete.
~ The quiet morning before everyone wakes. A coffee, a few minutes to yourself, and the first light of Christmas Day.
