Candles

Why soy wax?
Saide candles are made with premium soy wax – a natural, biodegradable alternative to paraffin, with no palm wax. We pair it with lead-free 100% cotton wicks and natural wood wicks for a cleaner burn in your home.

How long should I burn my candle?
On the first burn, let your candle burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the vessel – usually 3 hours. This sets its "memory" and helps prevent tunnelling. After that, burn for no more than 4-5 hours at a time.

Should I trim my wick?
Yes – trim cotton wicks to about 6mm before each burn. For wood wicks, keep them to around 3mm and gently break away any charred tips. This keeps the flame calm and even, with less smoke.

Why is my candle producing black smoke?
This usually means the wick is too long, or the candle is sitting in a draught. Blow it out, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight it somewhere away from open windows and fans.

Why has my candle jar blackened?
A little soot can build up on the glass over time. Once your candle has fully cooled, simply wipe it away with a soft cloth or paper towel.

Can I repurpose my jars?
Of course. Our candle vessels make lovely planters, desk organisers, or a home for cotton buds and beauty tools.

How do I clean my jars?
Pop your jar in the freezer for a few hours – the leftover wax will shrink and lift out easily. Then wash with warm, soapy water. Alternatively, fill your jar with boiling water, let it sit for 2 hours and the leftover wax will rise to the top in form a disc for removal.

Reed diffusers

How often should I flip the reeds?
Once a week is perfect. For a stronger scent, you can flip them 2–3 times a week. Flip them over a sink or paper towel, as the oil can mark furniture and fabrics.

Where should I place my diffuser?
Somewhere with gentle airflow, like a hallway or living room, away from direct sunlight and heat. This helps the fragrance travel through your space and makes it last longer.

How long do reed diffusers last?
Usually 4–6 months, depending on the temperature of your room and how often you flip the reeds.

Interior fragrance

How should I use my interior fragrance mist?
Spritz into the air or lightly over linens for an instant refresh - perfect for bedding, towels and throws. Avoid delicate fabrics, test on a small area first, and keep away from open flames.

How often should I use it?
As often as you like. A few spritzes will freshen your space – many people make it part of a morning, evening or cleaning ritual.

Where should I store my home fragrances?
Keep your candles, diffusers and mists in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, so their scent stays true.

Eau de parfum

How should I apply my perfume?
Spray onto pulse points – your wrists, neck and behind your ears. Try not to rub your wrists together, as this can change how the fragrance develops.

How can I make my perfume last longer?
Fragrance holds best on hydrated skin, so apply after moisturising. For a scent that lingers all day, layer it with the Glow body oil in the same fragrance.

How long does perfume last on the skin?
Our eau de parfum typically lasts 6–8 hours, depending on your skin, the weather and how it's applied. A spritz in the afternoon will carry you into the evening.

Why does my fragrance smell different on my skin?
Fragrance interacts with your unique body chemistry, so it can develop slightly differently on you than on someone else. It's completely normal – and part of what makes a scent your own.

Where should I store my perfume?
Somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and heat. Try to avoid bathrooms, as the changes in warmth and humidity can affect the scent over time.

Can I travel with my perfume?
Yes – our 10ml travel size is made for handbags and weekends away. Both our 10ml and 50ml bottles are under the 100ml carry-on limit for international flights.

Body oil

How should I use my body oil?
Warm a few drops between your palms and massage into damp or dry skin until absorbed. Straight after a shower or bath is the ideal time, as it helps lock in moisture.

How often should I use my body oil?
Daily, for soft, nourished skin. You can also reapply throughout the day to any areas that feel dry.

Can I use body oil on my face?
Our Glow body oil is designed for the body. Because it contains fragrance, we don't recommend using it on your face, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Can I layer body oil with other products?
Yes – apply it before or after your lotion for deeper hydration, or mix a few drops into your lotion for a lighter, silky finish.

Where should I store my body oil?
Somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and heat – a drawer or bedside table works well. Natural oils like rosehip are delicate, so keeping them out of the light helps your oil stay fresh and nourishing for longer.

Is the body oil safe to use during pregnancy?
Our Glow body oil is made with five nourishing plant oils and a fragrance blend formulated to IFRA standards. As every pregnancy is different, and some people prefer to avoid certain essential oils while pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider before use.

Enjoy the beauty of fragrance in your space – and thank you for making Saide part of your everyday rituals.
